Fading one picture into the next, using pan and zoom effects does not qualify you as a 'video editor', nor does it merit a web site which sells beginner-quality videos which any 14-year-old could produce. Good luck. You'll need it.

To clarify, this is not my primary job. It's a side. I've been one of the main photo and video editors for seven very busy years, five days a week while at Fred Fox Studios. Final Cut Pro is my primary editor, but I use other software to accomplish various other tasks, including slide shows. My original goal was (and still is) to create a series of tutorial and example pages about this very thing: creating slide shows or photo montages with a variety of popular or unknown software, as well as more advanced help or discussion for new or veteran FCP editors. Along the way, HDSlideshows was born...

As it so happens, I've been asked numerous times by family and friends of family who don't have the time nor the inclination to produce their DVD slideshows, let alone know how to convert them to files or transfer from a pre-existing DVD or other format and then upload for sharing on YouTube or Blip.tv. These people are the reason for whom I created this simple web-based company. I had no plans of creating a multi-million dollar empire, just to add more value to this particular service than some other similar online business currently offer, even though my prices and product are a lot alike. True, slideshows are essentially simple to do, but a good photo or video tech can do subtle things with movement or timing or individual images to make them even better. This has been my life for the last 7+ years.

Also, my other side/hobby is web development and design. This site which has been online now for about a year, is part of my portfolio.

Thanks, James.
